Samuel de Champlain

      (1570-1635)

In an aztec ¾ length coat of
royal blue

With matching front designs
made in wood chips with
tassels circling the hem

She said, “Look, i’m just too
cold. He’ll still be here in
spring.”

Bringing to a stop their tracks
in the first snow

And the spring came and went
& the spring came and went
and another summer & another
fall

When late in november, a day
on which it snowed

He went to see him, just to
say hello

what a peaceful poem...there is something about the attention you give to detail and the mention of the seasons passing that makes this comforting, but perhaps that could be due to the tone and the ending seeming so warm. , Dannie
