The Writer

Written within these worn pages she finds a fairy tale world;
A creation of love and passion where she alone is supreme judge.
The girl writes feverishly, the pages of her notebook unfurled,
Written within these worn pages she finds a fairy tale world
That she envisions herself aginst her knight, delicately curled
And knowing that here she can never hold a grude.
Written within these worn pages she finds a fairy tale world;
A creation of love and passion where she alone is supreme judge.

Author notes

Right. This was supposed to be a Poe quote, but I've utterly butcherededed it. :( I don't even have the heart to post the quote now, lol.

In any event, this was an attempt to jump start my Muse. Might have worked; might not have... Only time will tell.

    This is an interesting piece, I did see a little Poe-ish quality to this one, well done. Best to you

      Thanks. I thought I had a different idea as to what I wanted this piece to be about, but I suppose my Muse had other ideas. Perhps that means it worked?

      In any event, thank you for hosting this contest. I hope my entry is all right.

    I've no idea what quote inspired this, but I think it is lovely and breezy, especially for the fact that you haven't written more than one poems per million years recently.

    I like the feel to this. ♥

      Lol. The quote was: "I would define, in brief, the Poetry of words as the Rythmical Creation of Beauty. Its sole arbiter is Taste." My poem has NOTHING to do with it, lmao. e e;;;

      Ohwell. Can't win every time, right? Thanks for the support, love. ♥

        Well, maybe your poem portrays more the beauty of a true poet living for the written word? The passion she speaks just by her actions within your own writing, eh? It doesn't have to be literal, I suppose.
