Dante’s inferno is a journey of fear and darkness
If taken literally it can cause people to stress
It’s an epic poem concerning good and evil
The battling of wits between God and the Devil
All hope is abandoned as you enter the gates of Hell
It’s a long journey of Purgatory the nine circles tell
Dante’s journey through the realms of the dead
With Virgil by his side, is a tale of dread
As you descend through each circle you hear the tortured cries
For all who have sinned must be punished for their lies
The punishment is measured by the enormity of their sin
And as you travel through each circle the wrath of justice will begin
Hippocrites, thieves, traitors and worse
Those who on earth, showed no remorse
Divine justice they call it, No hope at what cost?
Poor victims of suffering, no forgiveness all lost
Tormented souls abandoned in purgatory
Within a fiery Hell, with Satan in all his glory
“An eye for an eye” “ a tooth for a tooth” the Holy book says
It also states forgiveness when we say our prayers
The wages of sin is death, so we have paid the price
Yes! Dante’s inferno is fictitious, and we must wait for Paradise.

The last line spoils what is otherwise an excellent warning of the HELLISH punishments awaiting SINNERS in DEEPEST HADES.
