the morning's skies are gray and damp
and night is not much better
when the wet darkness attempts to smother
my already-faintly beating heart.
but i wear this heart outside my chest
and try to shield it as best i can
from the driving, stinging, drowning force
of this rain that so mirrors my tears.
and it seems as if this precipitation
that falls so heavily now
mirrors what saturates
from inside out
this heart that sobs with the strain
of walking so unbearably alone.
and i'm kicking puddles up
to blend with the drops falling
down from those clouds
that keep the light from reaching my leaking eyes.
and i am shaded by the dripping umbrella
that casts a constant shadow
on these liquid sorrow days.

So sad and full of emotion! I think that you have taken the sad side of loving someone who either doesn't recognize that love for them or has known about the love and just doesn't feel the same way.
So SAD! I like how you made it about the rain falling down on the sadden heart. I think that you should remember though, the rain can also be healing in a way. With its power it can wash away the pain and frustration and leave you feeling blessed and refreshed.
Thank you for your entry!
