Time and Time Again

you were taken back today
no one to blame but yourself
rules meant to be broken
defiant to the extreme

you've come to a wall
now you need to turn around
find another way round this barricade
and seriously look at yourself

not our fault you're back
group home where you began
no late nights, not coming home
no sleep in till after noon

it's a lonely path you travel now
no computer filled with messages
no cell phone for texting
no music for your enjoyment

one day road might clear
feet will journey forward, not back
ask others for help
be strong, look ahead, have faith

(Granddaughter with ODD returned to group home because of her inappropriate actions at our place. Lasted at our place only three months. So sad.)

This lesson of tough love though sad now will benefit your granddaughter provided she learns from her mistakes. Good, thoughtful caring write wits seasoned advise, well done. Hope the best for her.

There's a tone of sadness here, also a wealth of concern for a child close to your heart. Sometimes the relapse is necessary so that the person can see how good they had things on the other side.

I will keep your granddaughter in my prayers. I believe this experience will be a tool in helping her to get back on the right track. Thank You for this very personal entry, and I wish you the best in this challenge and in life.

    Always ♥

I'm sorry to hear about your granddaughter, her life is going to be very hard if she can't adjust, the poem is a sad outpouring of frustration, I think, because I can tell you wanted to help. So sad is true.
