There's such an eerie familiarity
in the smell painting with oils.
Looking back,
I wondered if my mother had taken her hand
to the next level
instead of the sketches she hid;
the ones of my father.
Her artistic flame was snuffed out long ago,
before I was born,
before I was "thought of".
It's an old southern expression
that makes your mind put a perspective on life.
Aren't we all artists?
Aren't we all poets?
We are waiting to release ourselves
like a piss in the wind
or a great bowel movement that makes us lose a dress size.
We want to be accepted so badly
and we want to find this greatness
deep within.
I paint tonight and not just in words.
Everything is not at it seems.
As you see,
perspectives
sometimes
can be foreseen as false hopes
or maybe they are barriers put forth
by our own fears
that we think we are incapable of;
But we are capable.

Smells are awesome triggers! The associations with our memories or imaginations to which the are bound, are navigated through that surreal network sometimes with instant recall and at times, in that longing just out of reach feeling of dejavu... Just seconds away from revelations. You have shared a refreshing intimate course the open box travels, and painted a mural inside my head, along side the secret passages of my own wandering thoughts. Your thoughts herein captured in the turpentine and the oil... Should find their canvas more often.

I like your thoughts you jot indepth, makes me ponder. I have had many false hopes within my life, I'm familiar with mere words without actions. and as far as barriers put forth by our own fears... I'm pretty sure that's a human nature thing.. I know it takes alot of effort it seems to make a dream come true, but inch by inch it's a sinch, yard by yard, very hard. And yet still, circumstances seem to play a big role, as well as attitude. We all have certain gifts, and I enjoy the way you express yourself here. Thanks for sharing.
