Remedies to redemption
Otis Redding singing at my blank walls.
And black books and suitcase
I find the culprit cowering in defeat.
And what better time is there than now?
To start a new chapter in my life.
It is amazing to me the extent
in which things
change.
From the heart
to the mind.
No, today I will think of things like the polite breeze
that kisses my face by sweet Virginia.
Today I drop first blood
of my pen
on this page with
thoughts of the fathomable future.
today I write of possible pros
and hopeful heartbreak to come.
But...
Ad astra per aspera.
And cupid,
I dare you to keep up.
Yes indeed
through all the hard times that try to ambush you
treason
and with such a blow to the face,
you find stars.
And boy do they shine.
And twinkle like you knew when young.
– they do have fireflies here.
And I grew up a little today
if you promise to keep it a secret
I kinda liked it.
And as addictive a personality as me
what a habit to be set free.
I see the silver line
and it shimmers...
sincere towards the song you hear.
I’ll be okay and it’s a shame
that you will never get to see it.

if anyone reads this... i really like it. i don't know why. But it must have something to do with "Ad astra per aspera" which is a latin toast to better times... translating "to the stars through difficulties"
