Hopelessly adrift in sorrow's riptides
Choking on salty tears
Gooseflesh prickling on clammy skin
Wallowing in desperate fears
Knowledge changes nothing
Demons won't disperse
Praying for an angel
To lift a deadly curse
Chemical imbalances within
An already unstable brain
Causes these delusions
Delivering crippling pain
Relief is found nowhere
In not a pill nor an injection
Unpredictable mood swings
Led to eternal social rejection
Wishing for eternal sleep
Hour after hour
Begging for that coffin deep
Adorned with single funeral flower
A conscience stained with thoughts
Of hopelessness and premature demise
Allows no truth to be revealed
Only caustic evil lies
