I think I'll write about gluttony
Because I know food so well
I'm always thinking of new treats to make
I can do them up just swell
I've made miniature jelly balls
Cookies of all kind
Especially for the Holidays
They're the best that you will find
I like to make cut out cookies
And decorate them up so grand
Then share them with all my friends
They'll praise them across the land
There's cherry nut and chocolate chip
Soft white cookies too
Black walnut cookies made so big
Especially just for you
How about a coconut macaroon
Snicker doodles can't be left out
Old fashioned Anise cookies
My favorite without a doubt
Chocolate drops with cherries
Good ole oatmeal cookies my friend
The list goes on and on
There almost isn't any end
Now don't forget the little nut cakes
We make only at Christmas time
They still are a favorite treat
And eating them is oh so sublime
Author notes
I used the word Gluttony. This is my second poem. I forgot to come back and write it. Sorry.

Well, first of all... I almost forgot what gluttony was but then when I went and looked at the definition, I was like... "This is perfect!" Cookies are good, no matter how much you have, but then again, you get sick from having too many.
You definately did a good job portraying the definition of gluttony. I love it! And no worries about forgetting about the second poem.
you did a good job... Good luck!

Thanks PianoMan, glad you like the poem. Every year after Thanksgiving, until about 20 yrs. ago, We, my family and I would start baking cookies for the Holidays. One year I helped make so many cookies I sprained my back. I helped my Mom, my sister, my brother and baked my own cookies. I had some friends from Church that couldn't wait for the Holidays as they knew they would get a nice supply of cookies of many kind. The Anise cookies were the cut out cookies. They were made from an old family recipe and were they scrumpteous.
