We went “Over there” to fight the Huns,
in trenches and poison gasses .
There’s very few that remember that,
that happens when time passes.
We took the beaches in Southern France,
that is known as the longest day.
Made the push to free the French,
and finally won the day.
We fought again in the Korean war,
at Toko Ree and Pork Chop hill.
Against overwhelming Chinese hoards,
and never lost our will.
We took up arms in Viet Nam,
to bring down tyranny .
But were betrayed by people back home,
that was a blow to me.
Again we fight in burning sands,
to help set people free.
Our role seems to always be big brother,
because that’s out legacy

God Bless All Our Vets
Veterans of all the wars have given so selflessly for their country, and to us individually, without their sacrifices we would not know the freedoms we have today .
So often these freedoms are taken for granted, yet there are many still living, bearing lifelong pain or suffering in some form or other, silently.
It's a tragedy that Vietnam vets were not honoured on their homecoming...I hold the utmost respect for you, and all Nam vets.
A great write.. "Lest We Forget"

God Bless You!
All veterians of war should be remember and held with pride...they do not ask to go, they do it for our freedom...
well written of truth and sadness as to what our country has often become towards outr own...well written in remembrance and may we never forget...
Blessings!
