Tears defile the river bank,
that houses me.
Glancing at disregarded debris,
slowly flowing by, alone, I can relate.
Wishing to be carefree;
unbridled by rules and restrictions.
My heart, a tree draping into cool brisk waters,
clinging on for dear life.
Fear percolating inside a mind,
cast into confusion.
A small child lost in a universe in constant motion,
invisible to the naked eye.
Looking for that vine to cling too,
that shelter for which to feel safe.
Hang onto that life buoy, my small friend,
a miracle is in the current, just around the bend.
