Extropianism

Extropianism,
Also referred to as extropy,
Is the original philosophy,
Of trans-humanism.

Characterised by as set of principles, to construe,
Defined by Max More,
In "The Principles of Extropy",
Stemming from the trans-humanist world view.

With strong emphasis on,
Rational thinking,
And practical optimism,
Yeah that's the one!

According to More,
These principles,
Do not specify particular,
Beliefs, technologies or policies.

Extrophy,
shares the beliefs,
Of its parent philosophy,
Trans-humanism, developed by Dr More it seems!

The trans-humanist philosophy of Extropy,
Supports an optimistic view of the future
expecting considerable advances,in computational power,
Life expectancy and nanotechnology.

Many extropians believe,
In the eventual realization,
Of unlimited maximum life spans,
Recovery of all preserved via cryonics,by technological means.

In January 1998, Tom Bell coined Extrophy
When he defined it as an extent Of a living or organizational,
System of intelligence, functional order,
Vitality, energy, life, experience, and capacity.

Additionally, a drive for improvement and growth, you see
Extropy expresses a metaphor,
Rather than serving as a technical term,
And so is not simply the opposite of entropy.

In 1987, Max More moved to Los Angeles,
From Oxford University in England,
He established the first European cryonics organization, did he,
Known as Mizar Limited, later Alcor UK, to work on his PhD.

Today there are other organizations,
That have joined Extropy Institute,
To further trans-humanist ideas,
Such as Foresight Institute, Alcor Life Extension Foundation.

And also Trans-humanist Arts & Culture,
Immortality Institute, with Aleph in Sweden presence,
Trans-Vision in Europe,
Singularity Institute for Artificial Intelligence.

So are you into Extropianism,
Or into Trans-humanism,
Or perhaps Cosmism,
Or Proactionary Principle and related ism's!
