“Half a bubble off”
Listen here Jim “you can say that again”
And “I could not have said it better” my friend
Then my wife she got "all bent out of shape”
And “flipped her lid” so I had to escape
I told her don’t “go postal” no girl not on me
“At the eleventh hour” I was drinking don'tyou see
Well I’m home right now and it’s “better late than never”
She said”just a second” if you think you are clever
“Time after time” I have told you this my friend
Then got a “tongue lashing” but that wasn’t the end
I told her to calm down you’re “wound tighter than a spring”
“That rubs me the wrong way” that’s just not her thing
She said don’t you leave because I’ll be “back in a flash”
By then I was so “stressed out” an decided I should dash
I feel “dumb as a stump” cause soon I have to go back
She is so “hard headed” I’ll be in for a good smack
“What’s good for the goose is good for the gander” you see
So if “time heals all wounds” I’ll wait until quarter after three
“When push comes to shove” I will have it my own way
Or “go belly up” and at your house I’ll stay

I used to love Carol Burnett because she often used things like "half a bubble off" or "a splinter less than a log" ... I love those bits. Thank you so much for the entry. Rhymes good too.
