I guess you never loved me
I guess I should have known,
As the saying goes
"Leave well-enough alone."
But I had to push
"And when push came to shove"
I wanted a commitment,
I needed "all" your love.
I wanted you to hold me
Like no one had before,
Things were good enough,
But I wanted more.
Couldn't just be patient,
Couldn't bide my time,
Had to have assurance
You always would be mine.
Now, I'm standing lonely,
And so all alone,
"Be careful what you wish for."
"Leave well-enough alone."
