Like a heartbeat, the waves crash against the rocks.
She is so near the edge, the taste of salt is on her lips.
Eyes closed, breathe in, composed
Hours upon hours, she resides on that spot.
Permitting the waves to dance alongside her.
Eyes closed, breathe in, composed
Soaking up every inch of this place, With every wave that disapears,
the bad and the hurt are resolved, and forgotten.
Eyes closed, breathe in, composed
The sky becomes a spectcular site.
As ribons of colour arise.
Eyes closed, breathe in, composed
Behind her, the shoreline is taunting.
Soon she will find its sandy composition beneath her feet.
Eyes closed, breathe in, composed
Night breaks over the ocean, she is still there.
Engulfed in water as the tide begins.
Eyes closed, breathe in, composed
A smile breaks upon her face as the water rises
The warmth engulfing her
Eyes closed, breathe in, composed
As she wanders back home for the last time, she stops to look out.
The waves continue the crash against the rock and sing their melody
Author notes
This is mainly about me going off to college.. The picture reminded me of someone enjoying the beach for the last time... maybe before going home from a vacation. Hope you like it
