Just pretend, just pretend, just pretend.
Close your eyes, just pretend.
Whispers echo a haunting thought
From the lips of a former child.
Daylight fun turns to midnight terror
As the smoke blows into her face.
Close your eyes my sweet surprise,
I'm not going to harm you.
Just a dream to honor me.
I'll whisper pleasant stories.
(Just pretend)
Tears slip down her bloodied cheek
To the clean blond hair of her Barbie.
Clever tricks and the toy he gave her
Attracted her to the van.
(Another missing child)
Close your eyes my sweet surprise,
I'm not going to harm you.
Just a dream to honor me.
I'll whisper pleasant stories.
Shimmers of the knife he possessed
Convinced her to lay there and take it.
But all her strength couldn't save her.
She became a postered face,
Another missing child.
Close your eyes my sweet surprise,
I'm not going to harm you.
Just a dream to honor me.
I'll whisper pleasant stories.
Just pretend, just pretend, just pretend.
Close you eyes, just pretend.
Author notes
Well, this is in the form of lyrics. It's about how easily children can be tricked into getting into a strange car and never be seen again. It's sad, but true.

First off, I agree with your AN 100%, it is very sad but true. Second, these would make some great lyrics, they have the feel of a slow Evanescence type sound to it. You've done a great job and best of luck in the contest.
