Tonight reminded me that whiskey can be dangerous
and those eyes can draw me in at any point.
They're half-glazed tonight
but maybe that could be my fault.
The way you reached for me to pull me close
as bowling pins crash somewhere in the distance
my body is humming some secret tune
and I look like I'm randomly breaking out in dance.
My rhythm is off from the radio overhead.
my brain is three more steps behind

My world is starting to tilt
and he holds me up through every wave
crashing over my head.
My words are emotionless
as I fall yet even harder
and walk my way into confusion.
He's not asking for a confession of the heart
and he many never ask anything of me.

Yesterday won't let me go
and today is pulling me into tomorrow
making me see this new light/
