I.
being young
I knew myself best
I was strong and creative
bright and loud
with elves and unicorns
friendly vampires
they sang beautiful music
whispered inspiration in my ears
I saw the world a beautiful place
no reason to hide my secret world
but the kids shrank away
I was different
that was certain
I would never let my world go
it was an embrace
A balloon tied tight to my heart
but looking back
being different
I made the wrong turn
II.
with the years past
this feeling overwhelmed me
no longer bright and loud
just weak and dull
going with the flow
pretending I wasn't different
in another country of thinking
the only reminder a raggady teddy bear
tired and defeated
my past life
but then the sun shone
III.
renewed
refreshed
like a kid again
and sweet nothings poured from my soul
I was freed
from the iron bars
Of my peers

Good!
Another intresting take on the prompt! In this line, 'they sang beutiful music' is one of my favorite lines; but you spelled beautiful wrong. I think a couple of commas and periods could make this poem even better! Thank you very much for putting what I asked in your author's notes and for entering!
