Life

Missing image
Like peaches and honey from the bees,

Life to me is all it seems -

Sweet peace and joy is nature's plan,

Gifts of love offered by Thy hand;

Life is all I have, I am what I am.

In our time lived, all we seek -

All Thy creatures - wise and meek,

Is time in our season, then fall we must;

One day we shall fall to dust.

And I, inside a box, shall lie -

As I was born, so I shall die.

Author notes

Contest theme is "Inside the Box." Yes, we shall fall, like fruit
from the vine (photo taken this morning in my backyard).

    Sweet

    A lovely poem, with images from birth to death, somehow the peaches make it all OK. Peaches are a Japanese symbol for immortality, and the allusions in the poem to bees, and honey, bring continued life to your work. Good luck in the contest.

    I clicked onto the link for this particular contest, the graphic of the box which you have been given is a challenging one.

    I have enjoyed the way you have turned this blank picture of the box into something that is in stark contrast with your beautiful photograph of the peach tree which is so alive, pleasing to the eye to look at... whilst at the same time shows the reality of everything that lives... the eventuallity that comes to one and all.

    Well done and best wishes for this contest.

      Thank you!!! I am glad you like it!!!

      The fruit actually had me inspired to write a poem when I saw these beautiful peaches hanging on the tree... The birds ate all the cherries, and are going after the peaches now. The first poem I wrote is really long and boring, so I had to shorten it. I hope it sounds OK, it seems a bit rough to me. Could it be the bark in the background?!!? LOL Thanks again!!! Peace, Cyn

    Superb!

    A snapshot of the moment forever captured defying Time and decay...just as the image is captured so too are your words...they are now eternal and exist without end in the body of your write...Image and Words combined together to show your thoughts in solid form!...Superb!
