Surcease

As strong as an eagle, frail as a sparrow,
My dark wings spread ‘neath the flowing currents.
Evading darts I melt into shadow,
Dodging arrows, intended deterrents;
With the pride of an eagle, my path is narrow.

    I LOVED THIS!!! This is motivation for my week! Evading darts.. and to melt into shadow.. these lines grabbed me and the strong sense of pride you get from reading this poem makes me feel like nothing is impossible!

    VERY WELL DONE!

    Congratulations on the trophy!

    GREAT

    Short and sweet with a punch. Beautifully written "My dark wings spread 'neath the flowing currents." is truely a wonderful line. Your poem is as you say is strong and fragile. At times I felt you whisper then at times raise your voice and shout. A marvelous read. Thank you, Boog

    WOW!!!

    this was amazing, you said so much with just a few words, as only you can, I loved the double jearpardy, and the mirror opposites in this, we are all strong and weak and you nailed it with this wonderful poem, should have taken the gold, if you ask me, much love, PL xx and the usual sloppy kiss on the cheek, hehehe

    This is an amazing little poem. You mention strength and vulnerability. You have the currents flowing downward. You have darts rising. Then you speak of the path being narrow, meaning there is a definite purpose to what you do. Very descriptive and meaningful. I can see why you got silver with this. I think this deserved more than the one line comments below. It was well thought out. Have three bunnies.
