Last day of my life

http://www.creativecow.net/articles/simpson_mark/growing_tree/tree1.gif

Grown up from home to home,
A new family at every place,
Stopped trying to understand,
Why I couldn't live with mom.

Drugged and wasted I always was,
Thinking of ending this hell of a life,
Tossing my life away for the thrill,
Off to a world of my own fantasy.

Standing at the edge of life and death,
Wanting to fall down in the dark but yet,
Something hold me back, what was that?
A helping hand a bit too late?

So many times again and again,
Calling for help, screamed and yelled,
None who looked my way,
So why does this hand hold me back?

Taken away from my lullaby world,
Into a new home and family,
Given rules I had to follow,
For the consequences was too hollow.

Given trust I had never had,
Letting me burst out with hateful wrath,
Then took me close and gave me love,
Patiently teaching me of another world.

I stood at the edge of my life looking down,
Thinking the fall would be such a thrill,
Now I am safe and far away,
Thinking with horror where I would have been.

My mind turned around in less then a year,
Now I am looking forward to live,
A future I have created with love and care,
This life is not so bad after all.

Author notes

C. looking back how far have you come?

I was the only child taken away from my mother by the children society service. It was hard to cope with in the start but now I am grateful for that. I have learned so much!

Some really life changing, and challenging events that you've had to face so early in your life , but I am glad to know that when you thought you had sank to your lowest moment, you grasped onto the loving hand that reached for you and pulled you from your despair. I hope that your life continues to be enriched and blessed by the love that now surrounds you and that the lessons you have learned will give you strength to conquer the many challenges we all face in life. Congatualtions on the gold, thanks for sharing this in my contest.

    Good Luck,
    Blessings,
    Sassy

I thank you for your kind comment.

I am glad that I was taken away from my family, and I have learned more the past year then I even thought was possible. I will not do the same mistake again and toss my life away.

well congratulations on turning over a new leaf and straightening things out. honestly that's great. but this is really not a very good poem. i just don't get anything special from it. there are grammatical errors all over the place, few or no devices, no rhyme and no real flow. just my opinion though.

This is a free write, I rarely do rhyme so go somewhere else if you want a good rhyme.

But thanks for the comment anyways.
