You once admired my clock
so now I’m dead, its yours,
Its not my diamond ring
or antique chest of drawer’s.
It’s not the baby grand
or notes saved in my shoe,
but you admired the thing
I’m leaving it to you.
I know you love this clock
you said so many times
for it’s pretty ornate face
And most unusual chimes.
You said it was a shame
I never would restore it
it should belong to someone
who really could adore it.
Although I love this clock
I must leave it behind,
but just because of you
I had a change of mind,
I had it overhauled
it gave me so much pleasure,
the man who did the job said
"it could go on forever."
Its ticking in the hall
and boy is it a thrill,
it cost an arm and leg
so with it find the bill.

Fantastic...
Love the background... This poem is great!!! I hope to inherit something as grand as this one day, but without the bill, of course!!! Take care, and best of luck in the contest!!!
Peace, Cyn
