The Baby's Lesson

Baby Suzie
Stepped on a snail,
And little baby Suzie
Started to wail.

'I killed it, I killed it,'
The poor baby cried,
'I was only playing,
I just stepped, and he died.'

Baby Suzie's mommy
Came running to see
Why her little munchkin
Wailed loud as could be.

It was a good opportunity,
The young mother knew,
To make this a lesson
(As all wise mommys do).

'Please don't cry, Suzie
This snail's met his end.
But next time remember,
Every life is a friend.'

That famous snail was buried,
Respects paid to his strife,
And that was the day baby Suzie learned
To love each and every life.

this was lovely; and really makes you think too, because to be honest, i kill any fly/bee/wasp that comes into my house [well, i get someone to kill them!] and same goes for spiders; now obviously their lives [to most] aren't in the same reckoning level as the life of a human/dog/cat/much loved pet or animal, but still i guess in some small way, it's still taking a life.

this was great; really was - congrats on silver
