Loving from afar is so trying
Not being able to just call to say hello
For if I do that I stand a chance
Of letting all my feelings show.
He knows in his heart that I love him
There is no way he could be that blind
It shows every time I am near him
I was told this by a very good friend of mine
In times past I have written him letters
At others I have caught him looking me in the eyes
What do I do to stop this yearning?
For I'm married and can't live with the lies.
Forty-five years have I loved him
That the biggest part of my life
But He took a fancy to a pretty young blonde
And took her to say "I Do" and made her his wife.
Even though they are no longer together
I am married since I was eighteen
I married this sweet man on the rebound
So to him, I owe everything.
I love him in a way that is different
And maybe the one I crave would not be right
But when I think of love in the wee hours of dawn
It's his face that comes to my sight.

Honest heartfelt and beautifully done Sharon sometimes those I guess can fall for other loves but if they stay faithful or true to the one they are married to that shows they truly love them. Scary though cause there is always that risk of it going the other way too and being left hurt I wouldn't have the security to endure it. I be to afraid and it would break my heart. If something like that happened to me where I wasn't the one anymore.
