He happened to walk by a raised flag with one of its rings clanging lightly on the metal pole. The clanging pole reminded him of a ship’s mast in loose rigging, moored in choppy water.
And the mast reminded him of a cross. A celtic cross. With its prominent circle for the sun merged in the cross. The circle then reminded him of a native dream catcher’s net.
And the dream catcher’s net reminded him of its origin in a spider web. Spun with capable efficiency. Found in any home, in any nook and cranny. By any given spider.

I like the use of repetition to create connectivity. The connection of thoughts makes perfect sense and comes acrooss so beautifully! Very nicely done.

Mais merci bien, dame de la riviere. I hope there weren't any young old fashioned irish catholics with concern for the context of the celtic cross. It wasn't being bashed, so much as showcased.
