The shadow had won, so she sat and cried,
The bruises she felt, caused by nightshade,
Her darker half would be obeyed.
She knelt in prison for several days,
But the bars began to melt by sunlight rays,
The sun's lament brought forth great rage,
So she stood, and shadowed half, engaged.
To return to her husband, the sun,
She knew she should be the one,
So, sword repaired, she fought again,
Who knows at all what aim to gain?
Within, a month, tired and alone,
She knelt before her hallowed home
the sky she felt, what triumph before,
The shadow, lay down in the bore.
Prison bars shut, the moon stayed full,
Maria, blue moon, to the tides was cruel,
Humanity cried out from earth below,
So the moon began to feel unmellow,
Finally, the shadow, she set her free,
The people below began a spree,
Because as long as she could fight her fight,
They knew, eventually, they'd have her light,
"I am sorry, my twin," she said to the shade,
And both continued to fight, to disobey
the other...eons and eternity.
Author notes
Actually, when writing this poem, I created a sequel to my earlier poem, The Triumph of the Moon, but in truth, this one stands alone...I'll keep the title Triumph II because it speaks about the moon's second triumph against her other half, when she becomes Maria, or the blue moon, as she's known in the US. That's when she stays full for more than three days...(and it does happen, too) But this is also a poem about winning a lost battle. A really profound work of art which I hated at first, but now love. It is my art at it's best...

alright so where do I start. This peice grabbed me from the very start. an epic battle of darker side. the imagery is fantastic. Every word takes on it's own life to form a most amazing piece. Beautifuly written every word is exactly what it should be. awsome job!
