The other day my niece
handed me a drawing
she'd done all by herself.
She proudly beamed
and asked me what I saw.
All I saw, to be honest,
were colored scribbles,
drawn at random
frantic on the cream paper.
So I instead turned the question to her.
What do you see Sweetheart?
She smiled and began,
I see the ocean and the birdies
that we fed bread last year.
I see the subway daddy takes to work
and the school bus Gramma drives.
I see the pretty flowers mommys loves,
and I see the bright blue sky.
I see everything I love the most,
don't you see it too?
I looked again and saw those things,
through innocent and perfect eyes.
So on my fridge,
where scribbles used to lie,
I see oceans, and seagulls,
busses and flowers,
I see innocence and grace.
I see everything that's good.

A lovely take on the prompt. How we all treasure those first works of art from our children, this is why.
'I looked again and saw those things,
through innocent and perfect eyes.'
sometimes it takes a child to clear the tainted vision of adults.
Thank you for sharing with us

OMG THIS IS ADORABLE!!!
Is this true, at any means?
Even if it's not, it's so... livid, realistic, beautiful!
