Our love may seem
As it's slipping away
With the sun never shining
To brighten our day.
What my actions are showing
Is a state of depression
As I've lost my best friend
To a costly obsession.
But how my heart feels
Is like the day we first met
When our love was brand new
And better...it couldn't get.
I yearn for the love
As we had it once before
But to obtain such beauty
Do drugs never more.
You have asked me at one time
Not to make you choose,
But at this point in life
You have a lot to loose.
If you want my love
You must open your eyes
Or what we have left
Will be nothing but lies.
I am saying these words
In hope, you'll see the light.
To steer you in the direction
That for US will be right.

Bravo!
Beautifully penned love letter to let someone know that what they are doing is hurting "US"
Your love for this person is felt throught your poem. It is heartfelt and full of imagery. I guess I can relate. My favorite lines:
"I am saying these words
In hope, you'll see the light.
To steer you in the direction
That for US will be right."
