And you say you love me,
as we walk side by side.
Though we walk together,
we never walk in stride.
And you say you want me,
our life will be always and a day.
Yet you let your passions scatter
while holding mine at bay.
And you say you need me
as you go your own way.
Saying our love is forever
as you still walk away.
And now you say you hate me,
cursing angry leaden skies.
How could I ever leave you,
tell your one way love goodbye.
Well, we never walked together.
We never stepped in tune.
No matter how sweet the music,
all I could hear was the blues.

HOODWINKED !!!
This is a thoughtful poem laced with insight and wisdom. Your gut feeling gave you clues which pre-empted latter hindsight. Well written poem, easy to read and understand, with good emotional tone and depth.
You have been Hoodwinked by the Poetic Bandits today because WE CARE!

So Sad...
Such a painful rendering of the heart. Why must this be? Love was never intended to be an instrument of pain and sadness. Yet so very often it is. This is very well written and the rhymes are very comfortable. Best of luck!!!

Yes it can be true .... i feel a song here in the making nice rhyme pattern and yes i want to hear it set to music.
I just will not understand hy people say they love yet by actions and lack of kind words love was never there....perhaps they do not know the meaning of love or how to love.
Excellent take on the prompt. Good luck in this contest.
