Autumn's Child

Fluttering
Floating
Softly down
The leaves of time
That don't melt away
Recycling into new hands
New leaves
Fading as years
Fall away
A tree
The might tree
My strong hold
Weakens with age
Still
Still I am the strongest
In the woods
My circles of life
Unseen
Till...
I fade away from thee
Years and years from now
Let my young
Grow as old
As I
Let them fade
With the change
Of Time

I really liked the rhythm of this piece. Is there a pattern? It seemed to have a sort of heartbeat. I'm not sure how to feel about this one, though. It has a sort of memoir feel.. remembering, reminiscing. The imagery in the beginning was very pretty. I could picture the leaves. But could the leaves be representing something else? It almost seems as if they are the years and knowledge, the tree is the one growing old, and it is passing on the leaves for them to use and grow, recycled into new hands. I could be wrong.

    Thank you for entering.
