The solitude is a bit agonizing,
.........................I must admit,
I see you in the darkness.
.........................The colors do seem incredibly dull,
In your absence.
.........................my shadow sits in stone.
Cold, chilly and sick am I.
.........................The heat of my heart has left.
I long for your clutching warmth.
.........................I miss the caress you give to my lips
The sensation leaves me breathless.
.........................I fondle the night and find nothing.
There is no clue of you to be found.
.........................Where are you, dearest beloved?
I will wait.
.........................I will look until I find you again.
I will seek.
.........................I will find you.
Author notes
There are two ways to read this poem. One, you can read it line by line, right to left, by enter spaces. Two, you can read them as two different entities entirely. It's your choice. I suggest you try both. This was inspired by the way the books, Glass, Crank, and Burned were written. Enjoy.
