mast confusion,
for rampant thoughts
cloud my brain
The silence of peace
comes seldom in quadrants
of lullaby dreams.
Easy days are nice to me,
though violent discourse
sprout from unknown quarters.
They can't understand the
cycles of discontent riding
me like pale ponies on fire.
I lash out at those I love
reluctantly.
Trying to escape this dimension
of riddled puzzles unanswered
in my head.
Volumes of knowledge take
refuge inside this abyss
of madness.
As digital reflections of
mathematical equations race
toward solvency.
I'm betwixt and between
genius and insanity.
The factors of contentment
are lost in emotional replay.
Can't you hear the screaming
of this lost soul.
Crying to be free in a
world that lacks compassion.
Author notes
"To me the outside world is a totally baffling incomprehensible mayhem which terrifies me. It is a meaningless mass of sights and sounds, noises and movements, coming from nowhere, going nowhere" - Ros Blackburn
The inspiration for this piece
comes from my first cousin Damien.
He wasn't born Autistic but became ill
at a young age with some kind of disease
and as a result he was diagnosed to have Autism.
I dedicate this poem to Damien with love.
