I willingly allowed myself,
to be swept away with the tide.
I successfully suceeded at lying to them,
hid all the feelings I felt deep inside.
But in this life it's now or never,
time to begin a brand new indeavor.
Obsess with today,
instead of tomorrow.
A life of me,
as opposed to this sorrow.
I'll never understand my fate,
For no one will truly be able to relate.
I will be the only one,
that will understand myself.
Won't let me be victim,
to being placed on another's shelf.
I can't help but feel this feeling,
that I'm spinning out of control.
I must try to capture,
the essence of my soul.
Life is filled with struggle,
and much tragedy and strife.
Can't sell myself out to someone else,
I have to live my life.
The uphill struggle's hard to take,
my patience it seems is wearing thin.
I have to love myself,
then my salvation shall begin.

Change is something I'm really trying to accomplish.
A wiseman once said "the only thing constant in life is change." It may seem like an oxymoron, but the meaning behind it holds much truth.
It's a poem about conquering my past by accepting the present, to form a better future. Hope y'all enjoy this peace.
