I miss so much
All those ersatz memories,
All those imaginary friends
All that innocence I never knew
Growing up in Bombay,
I missed Santa Monica,
Suffocating in cities
Missing that beautiful black horse
I wish I knew
I miss all of those trains and planes
In my mind, the ones I traveled by
When I missed Santa Monica too much
I miss the music that was turned off
The minute I was old enough to know what it was
I miss that Rickenbacker 350
The one I pretended to play
Whenever I felt sad from missing something else
I miss that beautiful boy
The one with a gentle smile and light hair
The one I named Jackson
I miss his laughter and his eyes,
Sparkling like the French champagne
I imagined tasting
I miss three friends
My band mates
The ones who sung all the songs I wrote
You know, the songs that stopped
I miss all those things I never had...
God, I miss someone so much
A real someone
I miss her...
I don't want to take ghost rides
To places that don't exist
Calling her name out forever...

don't worry...I ca nbe really random too...and I know what it's like to miss places you've lived in...I've lived in NC, VA, and CT, and now I live in AL...I really do miss my old houses and friends sometimes....good luck!

This is a very interesting poem. It seems as if your whole life has been missing things about life. I really like how this is written. How you miss doing things you did before because you were missing other things.
I so relate to going places in the mind...using the imagination to take you to other places.
Well written!
Best wishes in the contest!

That sounds about like how I write things.
^-^
As I was reading through this, I thought to myself, "Man, this really shows the power and joy of imagination."
But...I got to the last part, and the romantic punctuation really hit it off. I really could relate to it all...I was simply taken by the ending.
Captivating...great job. Good luck in the contest! ^.^

LOL. I like your author's notes. Random, huh?
Well you're in the right place, because I happen to be quite random myself - and somehow I followed the train of thought completely (or at least I think I did).
It made perfect sense to me. I am actually very impressed that a 15 year old (not to sound condescending or anythign) could write something this impressive, imaginative, and... cultured. LOL. I know that sounds so unfair for me to say, but I'm really paying you a major compliment.
Definitely a wonderful write and entry. I loved every line. The imagery was exquisite. If you haven't been those places, or experienced those things... well DAMN! Share your muse, please?
Thanks so much for entering and good luck to you! -
This is a very touching poem. It has excellent flow. Many of us have things that we miss from our past. Most of us do not express it so well.
Great job.

-
a good piece of poetry which flows smoothly along, forget the regrets and live for right now and find something you like
