i think i've recently come to realize how much i really lost when you received those [change of address] cards. you used to feel like home on those late nights//early mornings. but you have packed everything i can only hope you felt for me messily into duffel bags and moved on and i haven't felt the feeling of home since. i miss you most on the nights i can't seem to find my smile, and those are the times i find myself still reaching for the phone even though i know you won't be there, because lately, you're never there. your laugh is what i miss most, the smile in your voice, and the way you suck air in between your teeth and exhale too loudly into the receiver.
i guess what i'm trying to say is,
i don't breathe the way i used to knowing you are too many thousands of miles away.

This is so heartfelt and honest and that's what I love about it most. There's no imagery or any other poetic devices just your true thoughts and that is what make is wonderful.
