there are not enough hours in her free day
where drawers to be fixed call her
and music calls her
and all the little 'leave for tomorrow' tasks
call her name, out loud agonizing sound
and she turns the volume higher
making the speakers tremble
with the sound of a crystal voice
and resonate the eternal words of Ari Barroso
she sways her hips while walking to the other room
and dances with the screwdriver as she glides to the drawers
day off and day on - still too less hours
to arrange her thoughts between all the papers
spread on the floor
and future memories of a complete quiet day

Truth is I look forward to going to work now as much as the days off! I do like the time off though to get organized for a future I can call my own. Enjoyed the presentation very much.

That is why, as we once talked about, teo days in a row off is a good thing. The first day is for doing tasks and what not, but without that over-looming feeling of early-to-bed, early-to-rise...I used to know that feeling, everything just melded into one and somehow I managed to get most things done, and those that didn't...they waited until I got them done.
Of course the poem, it is wonderful...not only in that Mariesque tone, but it small things the swaying as you walk into another room) that is so much like I like to do in fiction...show a little, say a lot...for in that line what you've said is...how you feel, how you react, it sets a mood...bla bla bla, I could go on but I forget that only I care about this stuff.
There's other stuff too...yes, more "Only Mayne cares" stuff, like the loud volume, the swaying with the screwdriver...two instances of freedom, of self-reliance too. I could go on (you know I could! lol) but it's just more of the Mayne stuff so I won't...but it's the stuff that makes great writing if folk know it or not.
People are leaving good comments of your page, ariazephyrzoe's is wonderful. Go tell her, maybe she'll call me "Sir" again. I like when she does that!
And of course A2000, but she's always good. And the others, wow, you are actually getting some good readers, you must be good!
And of course you are....for the love of God, someone pull me away from the keyboard!

i love this one...it has a realistic approach... femininely with a twist of you-go girl attitude and a very sexy vibe of hips swaying and ah the screwdriver
which proves women are multi tasker

And now Ari Borosso sings and plays
in my work space, due to your day off
frustrations and pleasures, and the ease
of the internet and YouTube!
Nice to share your day and your music today!

mi querida hija
What's wrong with your drawers? Has the elastic stretched or did you tear them getting them off in a hurry? Either way, I can't see how you're gonna fix them with a screwdriver!!
Good thinking to turn the sound up loud to deafen the neighbours who are peeking through the windows while you wiggle your hips doing your daily poi dance practice.
Now put your drawers back on and behave!!
I sympathise with your complaint though. Now el padre is retired and every day is a "day off" there still isn't enough time to do everything so I have started making lists of the things I DON'T need to do right away and the only urgent one left is commenting on your poem and asking you and Gaze PLEASE to come back into my group.
Don't you realise how much your absence hurts?
Anyway my darling, aplausos, amor, abrazos y besos XXX el padre.
PS: Very good poem with clear message and hardly any mistakes.

What a beautiful vibrant poem. It speaks (to me) of comfort yet offers a hint into a world where comfort is twisted between clenched wrists. ---- Thank you.

you have a talent at working with every day events in a way that any reader could relate to. i've had that exact feeling! always too many things to do, and who ever wants to do chores on a day off? i usually just turn the music up, and drink beer in the early afternoon instead.
i do not know Ari Barroso, but i will have to research!

I could see this poem happening there, Mari. I know this so very well too. I agree with Tara, wonderful mood-setting and a very nice rhythm here. Always busy on the off days, lolol.

Isnt it amazing how much we try to do in our off time?So this is a case of the better senses taking over, the music and the songs really say ...leave for tomorrow..., a wonderful poem, the feeling of those days is in this poem, enjoyed so very much...h
