Reminisce The Dead One

Missing image
As I walk around in the cemetery
And try to portray the dead souls
I think of these people
Whose life had yet to unfold~

I pay respects to those I lost
And think of the family
That once was~

As I looked at the tombstones of the dead
I think of the coffin
Forever their bed~

All these dead people
Take away my breath
Yet still they are here with us
And it's called death~

I think graveyards are one of the most peaceful places on the planet. I once spent the night in one because I couldn't face going home! How things have changed for the better. lol Yes they are always with us and that's the great beauty of death, it's a doorway to eternity. Heheheh you're amazing, you write about tombstones and death and put it in a horror list yet still you make it beautiful and profound!

    Thought provoking!

Ummmm a chilling way to start the day! I find graveyards fascinating and used to sit in them for hours for the peacefulness. This makes you wonder, and wonder, and wonder...
This is a very different write of yours but it's still beautiful in the subject matter!

    very well written

Yes, I agree. They are still here with us. I feel my mother around me a lot. She passed away 11 yrs. ago. It was a difficult thing, to watch her die. But I was able to be there when it happened, and I held her hand and told her she had suffered enough, and that it was ok to go onward.
I believe that the spirit of the person lives on forever.
I really enjoyed this one Susan.

This is very deep and kind of spooky, the ending made me laugh, but I'm guessing it wasn't supposed to (excuse my odd sense of of humor). I could like see the images in my head and yeah it was just really good.

This is deep and haunting and I don't see any hope for the afterlife. It's so very final and grim but also there is a lot of love for the dead people. I took it that 'Yet still with us' means their bodies in the ground but you might have meant their spirits. Great write.

    don't touch it!

    Great poem.

But, at the end there, are you refering to the dead living on in memory?
