Self-actualization,
A term originated,
By Kurt Goldstein,
On the realization,
That this is the instinctual need,
Of a human,
Yeah thats you man!
To make the most,
Of your unique abilities,
And focuses,
That are appreciated,
And did you know,
That one Abraham Maslow,
Described this as...
Self Actualization,
Which is the intrinsic growth,
Of what is already in the organism,
Or more accurately,
Of what the organism is,
As per subject Biz,
In the 'Psychological Review'
Of 1949,
In which he defined,
That A musician must make music,
The artist must paint,
A poet must write,
If he is to be ultimately,
At peace with himself,
Or herself,
What a man can be,
He must be, you see,
And this need,
We may call,
Self-actualisation,
Via self-expression,
And Maslow states about people,
That they embrace the facts,
And even pacts,
And realities of the world,
Including themselves,
Rather than denying,
Or them avoiding,
For they are spontaneous,
Even boundless,
In their ideas and actions,
They are also creative,
And innovative,
They are interested in solving problems,
This often includes the problems of others,
Solving these problems,
For them is often a key focus,
Tn their own lives,
They feel a closeness,
To other people,
And generally appreciate life,
They have a system of morality,
That is fully internalized,
And independent of external authority,
They judge others,
Without prejudice,
Or any malice,
In a way that can be termed objective,
Not subjective,
Maslow's hierarchy of needs,
Almost self-actualization deeds,
Is a theory in psychology,
Which you see,
That Abraham Maslow,
Proposed in his paper of 1943,
Entitled,'A Theory of Human Motivation',
Which he subsequently extended,
And his theory contends,
That as humans meet 'basic needs',
They seek to satisfy successively,
'Higher needs',
That occupy a set hierarchy,
Maslow studied exemplary people,
Many noble,
Such as Albert Einstein,
Jane Addams,
Eleanor Roosevelt,
An amazing lass,
And Frederick Douglass,
All as opposed to mentally ill,
Or neurotic people,
Writing that "the study of crippled,
Stunted, immature, and unhealthy specimens,
Can yield only a cripple psychology,
And a cripple philosophy",
As per the text,
'Motivation and Personality', 1987,
Maslow's hierarchy of needs,
Is often depicted as a pyramid,
In the id,
That in visuals,
Consist of seven levels,
The four lower levels are grouped together,
For us to ponder,
As deficiency needs,
Such as physiological,
Safety, love or belonging,
And esteem,
Associated with physiological needs,
Whist Being needs are,
Self-actualization,
And Self-transcendence,
Whilst the top level is termed growth needs,
Such as spiritual needs,
And man's search for meaning,
Associated with psychological needs,
So are you self-actual,
Or are you in another life portal,
One thing is certain,
You are a human and mortal!

the facts ...
have been presented and you have shared some 'wise' theories using Maslow's interpretation of Self Actualization. I have been fascinated by his theory for years now and find myself contemplating that pinnacle where it seems that one can never quite 'sit on the point' ..., for as soon as you do ... the mysteries of life? add blocks to the lower levels upsetting the balance! I'm so glad that you shared this wisdom and I'm inclined to take a peek at some of your other works as well. Maybe you know something that I need to know ... or missed along my journey to a new level of self-actualization.
