It's the End of the World (and Me)

Alone in this world
That's about to end.
Wish right now
That I had a friend.
Someone to say good-bye to
Someone to defend.
Someone to miss
And someone to pretend.

The world is ending
And I must say
That I would only want it to end
On this particular day.
A day so bright
In almost every way.
A day like no other
For our race to pay.

I feel relieved
For now we don't have to wait.
Everyone already knows
That those who stay will meet their fate.
I think in my suitcase
I'll pack all my hate.
So that when I die here,
I'll die wbut I'll tolerate.

For alas, I'm not going
With the rest of my kind.
I shall die with the animals
That I may find.
And although my heart,
It may bind,
I will be at peace
As I ahve pined.

They will try to take me
And I will refuse.
For I know the truth
And of that they would amuse.
The truth is that
In space they will abuse.
None will keep quiet
And all will be confuse.

Only 48 hours
Until my demise.
Yet I am happy
But know many would critcize.
However, I know
Or at least I surmise,
That they will only last a day in space
With their cheating and their lies.

They think they are clever
Cheating old Mr. Death,
But he will yet find them
And wrap them in his depths.
Some will cry and weep
Some will use Meth,
But they all succumb
To old Mr. Death.

That's why I am choosing
To meet him with a smile.
Perhaps we may chat
Or walk for awhile.
Either way, for me
I'll float down the Nile,
And forever be remembered
Walking that last lonely mile.

The mile before the time,
That the world closes in.
The mile before Mr. Death
Holds the world in a pin.
The mile before the last
Time I will sin.
With all my worries gone
And no one to take away my win.

I gladly welcome
The end of the world.
I open my arms
As the last minutes unfurled.
I was swept into darkness
As my feeling uncurled.
Alas, I am gone.
It's the end of the World.
