Religion

I'm caught up in this masquerade
and now I am paying this price
so, here I sit
and the bottom of this empty tomb
chained on to my very existence
here, I can only linger
in this hell they call religion
ha! I have seen even the bravest of men fall
fall to their feet in shame for their sin
religion...
it is what makes a man cry
yet they say it is a calming reliance
tell me then
tell me why am I chained to this
this hell called
religion

they say:
"you have every opportunity to hear "him"".
that means:
"join us or you will suffer"

religion
its a one way street

religion
a waste of time

i can totally see where you are coming from with this. this is the exact reason why i am agnostic. to me it seems religion is just another factor trying to tell you how to live your life, almost ruling your life, and i dont see the point of putting yourself true that. im not necessarly saying that i dont believe that there could be a god but i dont believe in the idea of religion. i think you should live your life the way that makes you happy and be a good poerson not because your religion tells you you should, you should do it for yourself.

wow im totally ranting now. lol. great poem!

If I'm honest, and since I won't or can't lie, I have to say I am sorry you feel this way. Your write is well done, although I don't agree with religion being a *waste of time* Just my opinion. Thanks for entering

I am sorry you have such a negative view on religion. I find it to be meaningful and comforting. It sounds like your experience has been a bad one.
