Random Bells

The subtle streets of this southern city
Give more entertainment than a little league game
If I had the talent to hit a ball from a pole
I'd be famous, too

I've heard your heart is torn
And I could lend you my sewing kit
But I used it yesterday
To fix a hole in my sweater

Let's spend our Sunday morning in bed
Because the floor is still too cold
But let's be honest with ourselves
We're too afraid to be left alone

I had a dream about a guitarist
And we fell in love and got married
And then lived happily every after
But you don't have to know

I saw a comedian on TV
Who reminded me of you
And this makes me bring up the question
Do you like random bells?

Hey America, the ice is still melting
And while you worry about your hair in the morning
I'll be changing in the phone booth
To become your only hero

I think I'll be a phone operator
I feel it's a better occupation
I'll transfer and listen to your calls
Since it's the only way to hear your voice

I'll put my music on shuffle
And hope that one song gets played
And I'll make sure to cry my eyes out
To get my point across

I find myself missing someone
But I'm afraid that it isn't you
So if you see me drifting off in space
It's him on my mind

I can see the full moon coming
And another month is marked down
I hope you know that I'm keeping track
Of the days that you keep me

I can name every song on the radio
And maybe sing some of the lyrics
But I can't understand this feeling in me
And I fear that I'm lost

Author notes

Basically for a week or two I added a stanza everyday. It's just mainly what was going through my mind those days.

Please tell me what you think

Oh yeah I remember reading this one. This is the collage poem you wrote about Randy.
