I wish cancer never existed
I wish that I could just kiss the boo-boos away
I wish you never knew the pain of loss
I wish your childhood had been innocent
I wish you never knew what an IV, CAT Scan or chemo was
I wish I could say your fears were not real
I wish I could say it was gone forever
I wish I could wipe away the tears from your eyes
I wish I could bring all your friends lost to the beast back
I wish the cure was found now
Author notes
For my Sarins, 5 years cancer free and counting
Not my best, brought back some raw feelings and some tears

:[ I really don't know what to say. I like that you put in your author notes that the person is five years cancer free, else I should have started crying more.
"I wish I could wipe away the tears from your eyes
I wish I could bring all your friends lost to the beast back"
These lines really made the piece complete.
I like this poem because it revolves around one thing. :] It makes it easier to understand for the reader. Like, you don't really have to know the person to understand their pain.
Wonderful job. Good luck in my contest. :]
