"Fare Thee Well"

Missing image
Another night for recreation; Nothing more and nothing less.
I'm just a tool for satisfaction in your lonely life, I guess.

You will awaken with a smile in the newness of the dawn,
just to find yourself abandoned and I'm already gone.

I am 'Torrid' in the bedroom, but have an 'Iceberg' for a heart.
I will leave you in an instant, before the teardrops start.

You're just one of many conquests and there will be many more
in my fruitless game of lust in which, the object is to score.

I will become a faded memory and I bid you 'Fare Thee Well'.
May heaven send you a true lover as I traverse my path to hell!

Oh my, I LOVED THIS! The non-forced rhyming couplets added so much to the meter and meaning! You are such a wanton woman! LOL When I uploaded the image, I saw something so very different than all the poems I've read thus far, and I like all of your interpretations so much better! For years I was Miss Torrid" and also Miss Iceberg". Great metaphors! Perfect length to get your message across, and in the end you are kind enough to wish him well. My kind of woman! Thank you for your entry and best wishes!

The picture brings many scenarios to mind, games that people play, ships passing in the night. Your poem is so fitting.
