Serenity in evening light of setting sun
reflects upon the waters and its gentle waves
as God looks down upon it from heaven above,
watching over creation with abiding love.
Peacefulness within its silence soothes the spirit,
this a time of reflection when the day is done
and birds fly towards land in search of nightly rest
while sun slips into the horizon in the west.
Here twilight’s curtain now slowly begins to fall;
a tree stands alone in the midst of the water
much like a sentinel, to guard the coming night,
all a part of the cycle of life in God's sight.
