The Cauldron of Discontent

The simmering cauldron of fear and mistrust,
engendered  by a system that is wholly unjust.
Fuelled  by bountiful coffers of riches galore,
wrung from the sweat of the labouring poor.
Recruiting the out of work man in the street,
to do all the dirty work, for the elite.

Ill equipped  for the nefarious job on hand,
no supply of body armour in Iraq’s luckless land.
No shortage of bodybags to arrive home in grand style,
after “Liberating” a land with the people hostile.
"Where are the weapons of destruction"? one might say,
they can be found in Israel supplied per U.S.A.

Fair minded people just can't understand,
why you armed the Israelis, to take Arab land.
And while Israel bulldoze arab houses each day,
who supplied  the bulldozers? your old U.S.A..
Who backed Sadam's poison gas war on Iran?,
the champion of democracy your own uncle sam

Reading Poetry as per Your Request

It is my belief, that if one reviews the history of what constitutes modern-day Israel and Palestine going at least as far back as the days of the Ottoman Empire, one cannot help but come to the conclusion that the "Israelis" are the rightful owners of the land, and that they have done more than bend over backwards to accomodate the Arabs that live in the area. It is a shame that histories have started to get so biased on BOTH sides of the situation that finding the clarity of truth in this ever-muddying matter is becoming a continually more difficult task.

It hasn't helped matters that Palestine continually breaks agreements once made. Israel is certainly guilty of tit-for-tat retribution which includes bulldozing houses. What I find interesting is that there are many Saudis, Lebanese and Syrians (among others) who don't have much sympathy for the Palestinians either.

Think you have me pegged politically? Try reading Any Soldier to see my general thoughts on matters such as these. You'll be surprised, I think.

I send along one clappie in spite of my disagreeance with the subject for a well crafted poem that packs a considerable amount of emotion in a relatively small space.

This speaks strongly of war and its motivations
whether hidden or public, but I find little of
"The American Dream" as described in prompt.
A forthright verse that demands attention. Blue

That was a sucker punch in the face. But full of truth.
