A Joker & a Heart

Missing image
which one of us
is the strong one?
Dreaming up excuses
how a joker rules the cards

Is there medication
for our scrambled heads?
Can a gamble give you odds
less than even

throw the dice
we have nothing to lose

snakes eyes
already seen
trying happiness
in a sad existence

and when you're tired
of beds; all the
empty spaces
turn to face me

I'm no carnival ride
or a conjurer turning tricks
and this is not
a deep dark magic
to just fill your eyes

finding the Queen of Hearts
when my world collided with you
love doesn't need a gold ring
tied to a place you hate

all it needs is patience
believing in me
and leaving it
up to fate

    I loved this poem. It truly was amazing. I loved the beginning stanza. It caught my eye and made me want to read the rest. No spelling errors either I especially liked how it wasn't a prewrite. Also I really like that you chose the fate option. You are a writer. Thank you for entering my contest.
