This is the calm before the storm.
I acknowledge that it can
NEVER
be so good for so long.
I can’t enjoy living this contently,
not quite happily (yet),
for I am ever a n t i c i p a t i n g
the proverbial recession.
It’s when life tears my tendons
and busted arteries form abrasions
that I can feel comfortable and relaxed,
because the pain is seemingly familiar.
What?

If you've reached the "calm before the storm" that usually means you need to brace yourself for the actual storm. Great poem here, well penned

Calms before storms are never good. Though how would you know if it was a calm before a storm? Thank you for sharing your poetry with me.
