It's the edge
and for the life of me
I can't see beyond that;
all the scratching
itching in palpatation
skipped heart beats
thumping and sailing
the nails through a
mind that expected less
forever isn't all that far
now that the wind is fierce
picking me up like a
chiseled mortar vessel;
and I spin again through
the vortex of its might
over and over with
no withdrawal;
I find the end at tunnel's
final barclay dropping
me into the fire of
its barbaric nest.

I love, love, love the progression in this poem. I could feel the build up of the music very well. It undulates with excitement, dropping the listener into a crash of passionate exhaustion. This is actually very music oriented. I know music pretty well (I used to sing with a group) and this really tells a story. Good luck in the contest. I hope this is appreciated appropriately.

Thank you. I didn't know you were a singer~
Did you get to hear the music that this had
to accompany for the contest.........that I didn't
place, by the way? lol
It was fun anyhow. Music can really inspire a poem. I'm glad I did this.
