She stood by the fence crying,
her heart broken in two.
Music playing in her ears,
trying to forget the sadness of her heart.
Looking at the swings she went over,
Remembering as a child she loved the swings.
Swinging higher and higher
like she could fly away from her worries.
She started to swing,
the gentle music filling her heart and soul.
Higher and higher she went,
closing her eyes imagining herself flying.
Away from the stress, away from the noise.
Higher and higher she went
no longer feeling the swing beneath her,
but the wind in her hair.
Higher and higher she went,
and flew

Powerful write niece! One can feel a little girl within swinging as she did as a child carefree!
As with the swing you pull us up with your words and liberate us with this write..A wonderful experience, and so liberating..Bravo!

I love it! It's so sweet! I just love those times when we can shrink our problems down to nothing and just enjoy the simple bliss of living, breathing, and loving. Great Job! God bless you!

Very very beautiful my friend. There is a sadness to this that is very raw. I can feel the desolation in this. Your imagery is superb too. I caught the sense of loneliness of wanting to escape from all the worries by swinging higher and higher. Maybe depression too? You put your feelings into this and it showed. Very well-written indeed.
Well done my friend.
