more likely one than the other

Once molten and fluid,
throbbing and effusing,
now hardened into
a blown glass vesicle,
darkened by hundreds of little cuts
and the impurities of spun heels.

Sucker punched!
No longer pretending to be whole,
that brittle vial shatters
into frozen onyx shards.
Ground glass viscera
bleeds a howl of tears.

Hard: crystal slivers may be gathered,
then painstakingly matched and glued
with the tendrils of rage,
until standing crippled but erect.

Soft: frangible orts may be melted
and massaged into supple haleness
by the continuity of love,
to dance with joy long forgotten.

As I read this, it reminds me of a hear shattered many times and many times put back together in a feeble attempt to undo the damage done...but there are always cracks and missing pieces, and the joys once felt when it was whole will never be the same.

    Thank you for entering.

Thank you Rose Dark Thorn for you reading of the piece and the bling. I am surprised it garnered that as it was written quickly. There was some recency in your prompt so it was at the surface. I hope this or something better also went at least a bit into assuaging the hole in your heart.
